The following is issued on behalf of the Hospital Authority:
Regarding an earlier announcement on a Norovirus outbreak in the Developmental and Disabilities Unit of Caritas Medical Centre, the spokesman for the hospital made the following update today (January 30):
Further to the six announced cases, a 2-year-old boy of the same ward presented with vomiting and diarrhoea with positive laboratory result of Norovirus. He is being treated under isolation with stable condition.
The hospital will continue the enhanced infection control measures and closely monitor the situation of the ward. The case has been reported to the Hospital Authority Head Office and the Centre for Health Protection for necessary follow-up.
