The fifth INNO-Action! HKBU Academy of Film Seeds Project jointly organised by the Government Youth Portal (Youth.gov.hk) and the Academy of Film, School of Communication, Hong Kong Baptist University (HKBU), under the sponsorship of Create Hong Kong was launched with a Master Class today (January 16).
Officiating at the ceremony were the Executive Director of Youth.gov.hk of the Efficiency Unit, Mr Ng Chi-keung, and the Project Coordinator of INNO-Action! HKBU Academy of Film Seeds Project and Senior Lecturer of the HKBU Academy of Film, Mr Lam Kin-hung. Crew members of the film "She Remembers, He Forgets" were invited to speak at the Master Class. Director Adam Wong and producer Saville Chan shared with the audience their experience in the transition from making short films to independent films and eventually commercial films, and actress Cecilia So spoke on her aspirations for the film industry as a novice.
The Seeds Project was first launched in 2011. It aims at nurturing the creativity of secondary school students, enhancing their aesthetic appreciation and artistic knowledge, and enabling them to understand more about the film industry. This year, the Project will last for about seven months, covering a series of activities such as a Master Class, workshops, a digital short video competition and industry and tertiary institution experience events.
With the launch of the fifth Seeds Project, the Digital Short Video Competition 2016 is now open for entries. All secondary school students may submit short videos of any topic with a suggested length of no more than 15 minutes. The submission deadline is April 30, 2016.
