Following is the transcript of remarks made by the Secretary for Food and Health, Dr Ko Wing-man, before attending a public function today (June 12):
Secretary for Food and Health: Regarding the situation in Korea, we noticed that amongst the confirmed Middle East Respiratory Syndrome cases, one case reported yesterday is probably a fourth generation transmission. This is a case of particular concern. We will seek advice from our experts to assess the significance of this possible fourth generation transmission case. We appeal to Hong Kong citizens who had visited Korea and returned to Hong Kong with fever or relevant symptoms to go directly to the Accident and Emergency Department of public hospitals (for medical consultations). Whereas for those who have no relevant travel history and symptoms but have other mild symptoms, I appeal to them to use the community family physician service as far as possible.
