Four nominations were received by the Returning Officer for the by-election in the San Fu Constituency of the Tai Po District Council by the close of the nomination period today (June 10).

The Returning Officer will decide on the validity of the nominations shortly.
A poll will be held on July 19 (Sunday) should there be more than one validly nominated candidate in the constituency. The returned candidate will fill the vacant office of an elected member of the Tai Po District Council.
The Electoral Affairs Commission will hold a briefing for candidates and their agents at Tai Po District Council Conference Room, 4/F, Tai Po Complex, 8 Heung Sze Wui Street, Tai Po, New Territories, at 6.30pm on June 12 (Friday).
The Chairman of the Electoral Affairs Commission, Mr Justice Barnabas Fung Wah, will chair the briefing and introduce the guidelines on election-related activities. A representative from the Independent Commission Against Corruption will explain the Elections (Corrupt and Illegal Conduct) Ordinance. The Returning Officer and representatives from the Registration and Electoral Office, Hongkong Post and the Department of Justice will also be present.
