The Government announced today (May 28) that Mr Edwin Tong Ka-hung, Project Manager (Hong Kong Island and Islands Development Office) of the Civil Engineering and Development Department, will assume the post of Director of Drainage Services on June 1, 2015.
Commenting on the appointment of Mr Tong, the Secretary for the Civil Service, Mr Paul Tang, said, "Mr Tong has proven leadership, administrative skills, profound professional knowledge and broad operational experience. I have every confidence that he will be able to lead the Drainage Services Department to keep pace with the times and continue to deliver quality service to the community."

Aged 56, Mr Tong joined the Government as an Assistant Engineer in April 1982. He was promoted to Chief Engineer in July 2005, to Government Engineer in August 2009 and to Principal Government Engineer in July 2012. He is currently Project Manager (Hong Kong Island and Islands Development Office) of the Civil Engineering and Development Department.
