New layout on Police Public Page (with photo)
*********************************************

A new layout of the Police Public Page (PPP) content page was launched today (July 25) to allows members of the public to obtain police information more easily at a glance.

"As part of our commitment to make better use of different platforms, including the PPP, to enhance communication with the public, the content page of PPP has been redesigned to provide a better browsing experience to users," a Police spokesman said.

The auto-rolling banners on the top of the page have been modified making the content icons clearly seen.  Icons of 'Highlights in 2014' and 'Press Release' have been added to the centre message area in addition to the original items including 'What's New', 'Police Messages', 'Crime Prevention', 'Recruitment', 'Traffic Matters', 'Youth Corner', 'Hong Kong Auxiliary Police', 'Licences/Permits' and 'e-Report Room'.

To facilitate users to get the police contact numbers more easily, the small window containing links to Police Hotlines and addresses of police stations has been moved to a conspicuous position at top right hand corner of the page.

"We hope that latest web design can facilitate the users and further enhance the hit rate of the PPP so that our messages can reach out to the public more extensively," the spokesman added.

To experience the new features, please visit the PPP on www.police.gov.hk.
