The Hong Kong Red Cross Blood Transfusion Service (BTS) today (December 10) appealed to members of the public who are of the O positive or A positive blood groups to come forward as early as possible to donate blood. Despite the BTS appeal for O positive blood in the last few days, the inventory of O positive blood remains low. In the meantime, the inventory of A positive blood is decreasing. In order not to affect the normal supply of the two blood types, the BTS has to collect blood from an additional 100 donors of O positive and A positive blood each day in the coming week to replenish inventories.
