A four-day Workshop on Transfer Pricing Dispute Resolution and Avoidance was officially opened in Hong Kong today (December 10).
The workshop was jointly organised by the Hong Kong Inland Revenue Department and the Centre for Tax Policy and Administration of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD). It aims to broaden and deepen participants' knowledge of transfer pricing issues.
Three experts on transfer pricing from the OECD and tax authorities of Germany and the United Kingdom will share their experience with 25 tax administrators from the Mainland, Japan, Korea, Macau, Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam and Hong Kong in the workshop.
Addressing the opening ceremony, the Commissioner of Inland Revenue, Mr Wong Kuen-fai, said that with the growth in international business, transfer pricing dispute resolution has become an increasing challenge in tax administration. The workshop acts as a platform for discussion, focusing on mutual agreement procedures and advance pricing arrangements, as well as issues arising in the resolution and avoidance of transfer pricing disputes.
