The North District Fun Arts and Cultural Appreciation Day will be held this Sunday (November 17) at Shek Wu Hui Playground, Sheung Shui, from noon to 5pm, featuring a series of entertainment programmes as well as handicrafts workshops. Members of the public are invited to enjoy the event free of charge.
With the themes of art and culture, the event aims to enhance public understanding and foster exchanges in these two areas through different local artistic and cultural programmes.
A variety of performances including Chinese music, children Cantonese opera, modern dance and A cappella will be staged. Another highlight is a clown performance by the Champion of the World Clown Competition, Ashida Lung, who will be dressed up as "Noisy Chao Chao". Eight handicraft workshops will also be set up for participants to make their own unique and creative handicrafts.
Guests including the Secretary for the Civil Service, Mr Paul Tang; Chairman of North District Council (NDC), Mr So Sai-chi; and Assistant District Officer (North), Mr Zachary Lee; will officiate at the opening ceremony of the event at 2.30pm.
The event is organised by the NDC's Working Group of Festival Activities and sponsored by the NDC, with assistance of the North District Office.
