The Transport Department (TD) today (November 14) reminded the public that special traffic and transport arrangements will be implemented in Causeway Bay this Saturday and Sunday (November 16 and 17) to facilitate the holding of public parades.
The special traffic and transport arrangements will mainly include:
November 16:
------------
Hysan Avenue, Yun Ping Road, Kai Chiu Road and Lee Garden Road will be intermittently closed from 8.30pm to 9.30pm.
November 17
-----------
* From about 2.30pm, Great George Street, the section of Kingston Street westbound between Paterson Street and Gloucester Road and the section of Paterson Street between Kingston Street and Great George Street will be closed. During the holding of the event, the Police may implement other traffic diversion and road closure arrangements whenever necessary.
* During the period of road closures, New World First Bus Route No. 2, Cross Harbour Routes No. 102, 106, 110 and 307, and Green Minibus Route No. 25 will be temporarily diverted. The public transport operators concerned will arrange publicity to inform passengers of the temporary arrangements.
* Car parks within the road closure areas will be suspended. Any vehicles found illegally parked within the precinct of the special traffic arrangements specified above might be towed away without prior notice.
The TD anticipates that the traffic in Causeway Bay would be congested on that day. Motorists are advised to avoid driving to the affected areas. In case of traffic congestion, motorists should exercise tolerance and patience, and follow the instructions of the Police. People who plan to go to the affected areas are advised to use public transport services.
The TD and the Police will closely monitor the traffic situation and implement appropriate measures whenever necessary. Motorists and the public are advised to be alert to the latest traffic news on TV and radio.
Details of the special traffic and transport arrangements are available at the department's website (www.td.gov.hk). Please call 1823 for any enquiries.
