The Town Planning Board today (November 8) announced the publication of the Draft Tai Tan, Uk Tau, Ko Tong and Ko Tong Ha Yeung Development Permission Area (DPA) Plan.
The draft DPA Plan covers about 70.79 hectares. The DPA, which comprises two sub-areas, i.e. the main sub-area bounded by Wong Chuk Long and Wong Ma Tei, and another sub-area currently occupied by Jockey Club Wong Shek Water Sports Centre, is located at the northeastern coast of Sai Kung East and West Country Parks along Ko Tong Hau.
A spokesman for the Town Planning Board said the general planning intention for the area is to protect its high conservation and landscape value and the rural settings which complement the overall naturalness and the landscape beauty of the surrounding country parks. The planning intention is also to reflect the existing recognised villages of Tai Tan, Uk Tau, Ko Tong and Ko Tong Ha Yeung.
About 3.04 hectares of the area is zoned "Village Type Development" to reflect the existing recognised villages. The remaining 67.75 hectares of the area is designated "Unspecified Use", pending detailed analysis and studies to establish the appropriate land uses in the course of preparing an Outline Zoning Plan.
The draft Tai Tan, Uk Tau, Ko Tong and Ko Tong Ha Yeung DPA Plan is now available for public inspection during office hours at the secretariat of the Town Planning Board; the Planning Enquiry Counters of the Planning Department in North Point and Sha Tin; the Sha Tin, Tai Po and North District Planning Office; the Tai Po District Office; and the Sai Kung North Rural Committee.
Any person may make written representation to the Secretary of the Town Planning Board on or before January 8.
Copies of the draft plan are available for sale at the Map Publications Centres in North Point and Yau Ma Tei. The electronic version of the plan can be viewed at the Town Planning Board's website (www.info.gov.hk/tpb).
