The Chief Executive, Mr C Y Leung, today (September 2) received the report submitted by the Independent Review Committee on ICAC's Regulatory Systems and Procedures for handling Official Entertainment, Gifts and Duty Visits.
The Chief Executive thanked the Chairman of the Independent Review Committee, Mr Chow Chung-kong, and members Mr Albert Au Siu-cheung, Professor John Leong Chi-yan and Dr Leong Che-hung for their hard work and dedication in completing the review and submitting the report within four months.
As the ICAC is investigating complaints in respect of its former Commissioner, the Government has to seek legal advice on how to handle the report so as to avoid any possible prejudice to the investigation. Upon making a decision, the Government will publish the report in an appropriate manner.
