Twenty-eight EPD convictions in October

     Twenty-eight convictions were recorded last month (October) for breaches of legislation enforced by the Environmental Protection Department.

     Four of the convictions were under the Air Pollution Control Ordinance, 10 were under the Noise Control Ordinance and 14 were under the Waste Disposal Ordinance.

     The heaviest fine in October was $30,000, assessed against a company that carried out prescribed construction work in a designated area without a valid construction noise permit.
