Regarding a traffic accident involving four Hong Kong residents in Jiangxi on October 7, a spokesman of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government said that upon learning of the incident, the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office in Guangdong (GDETO) had immediately contacted the family members of the concerned Hong Kong residents via the Immigration Department. Two immigration officers from the GDETO had also arrived in Jiangxi to offer practicable assistance to the concerned Hong Kong residents in the afternoon on the same day.
It was reported that the traffic accident happened at Jinan-Guangzhou Expressway in Jiangxi in the early morning on October 7.
According to the information available, two Hong Kong males died and two Hong Kong females were injured in the incident.
The GDETO and the Immigration Department will continue to follow up the case and keep close contact with the family members of the concerned Hong Kong residents to render all practicable assistance.
