Murder in Yuen Long

     Police are investigating a murder case in Yuen Long yesterday (September 23) evening, in which a 19-year-old man was killed.

     About 10pm yesterday, Police received a report that about 20 to 30 Non-Ethnic Chinese (NEC) men were fighting with each other with glass bottles and poles in a basketball court near Nam Pin Wai, Yuen Long.  

     Police arrived the scene and located an injured male NEC. The 19-year-old victim who sustained serious injuries to his neck and chest, was taken to Pok Oi Hospital for medical treatment. He was subsequently certified dead at 11.16pm yesterday.

     Police also found a saw, a folding knife, a watermelon knife, some iron sticks, some wooden poles and some broken glass in the vicinity.     

     Two other injured male NECs, aged 20 and 25, were also located at Pok Oi Hospital. They were later transferred to Tuen Mun Hospital. Police are investigating whether they are in connection with the case. 0

     A post-mortem examination will be conducted later to ascertain the cause of the death.

     The case is classified as Murder and active investigations by the Regional Crime Unit of New Territories North are underway.
