Employer fined for violation of safety rule

Sharp Mind Engineering Limited was fined $18,000 at Shatin Magistrates' Courts today (September 7) for violation of the Occupational Safety and Health Ordinance. The prosecution was launched by the Labour Department.
The case involved a fatal accident that occurred on January 7 this year in Shatin, in which a worker fell while pruning the branch of a tree and subsequently died.
