Appeal for information on abandoned baby boy (with photos)

     Police are anxious to locate the next-of-kin of a baby boy who was found abandoned in Castle Peak today (August 18).

     At about 7.15am, a 62-year-old woman found a baby on the floor inside a cubicle of a female toilet on 148 Wu Chui Road. A report was then made to the Police.

     The baby boy is about one-month-old, 55 centimetres tall and 4.7 kilograms in weight. He was wearing white clothes and wrapped in a blue blanket inside a black handbag when being found. A beige bag with some baby clothes, nappies, a can of bath powder, a can of milk powder and a feeding bottle was beside him. No identity document was found at scene.

     The baby boy, sustaining no apparent injuries, was sent to Tuen Mun Hospital for examinations.

     Investigations by the District Investigation Team of Tuen Mun are underway.

     Police urge his relatives of the baby boy or anyone who has information to offer to contact the investigating officers at 3661 5866 or Castle Peak Police Station at 3661 5900 or 3661 5910.
