The Labour Department will hold a three-day job fair at Tuen Mun Town Hall from July 11 to 13. The job fair offers vacancies coming from various industries on July 11 and 12, and the job fair on July 13 will be a thematic one, offering vacancies from the retail and catering industries.
A total of 60 organisations will participate in the job fair. They mainly come from the retail, catering and property management industries, offering a total of over 4,900 vacancies. Twenty organisations will set up counters and conduct on-the-spot recruitment on each day.
The vacancies offered cover a wide variety of positions such as sales representative, beauty consultant, customer service executive, clerk, waiter/waitress, chef, shop assistant, cashier, domestic helper, driver, technician, security guard and cleaner. Job seekers who want to know more about the vacancies may visit the department's Interactive Employment Service website (www.jobs.gov.hk).
About 80 per cent of the vacancies are full-time jobs. The majority of the vacancies offer monthly salaries ranging from $6,000 to $11,000. Over 99 per cent of these vacancies require a Secondary Six education level or below. More than 60 per cent are open to job seekers without relevant experience.
Job seekers can submit applications on the spot and may be selected for on-site interviews. The Labour Department will also conduct on-the-spot registration for job seekers.
The job fair will be held from 11am to 5.30pm at Exhibition Gallery, 1/F, Tuen Mun Town Hall, 3 Tuen Hi Road, Tuen Mun, New Territories. Admission is free.
