Cantonese opera demonstration and finale performance in August
********************************************************

The locally based Dawn Radiance Opera Troupe will stage two performances in August to tie in with their Cantonese opera summer camp. Camp participants will also have an opportunity to perform on stage.

Featuring professional young artists led by the troupe's artistic director, Yuen Siu-fai, the performances will take place at 7.30pm at the Theatre, Ngau Chi Wan Civic Centre, where the troupe will perform the well known comedy "A Warring Couple" on August 10 (Friday). The comedy incorporates traditional paichang routines, martial arts, witty exchanges and love affairs and has been well-received by audiences.

During the first half of the performance on August 11 (Saturday), the summer camp participants will give a finale performance including singing, flag-wielding, fighting with weapons, flicking of the long sleeves, stylised movements and postures. The troupe will then perform "Hitting the Noodle Crock".

In addition to acclaimed Cantonese opera maestro Yuen Siu-fai, other young artists include Miu Dan-ching, Tsui Yue-ming, Ma Cheuk-lun, Kwok Chun-sing, Leung Wai-hong, Cheung Kit-har and Lai Yiu-wei.
