The Chief Secretary for Administration, Mr Stephen Lam, will visit Sichuan from May 24 to 26. He will officiate at a ceremony to commemorate the completion of reconstruction projects funded by the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region and the signing of co-operation agreements between Hong Kong and Sichuan, co-host a high-level meeting with officials of the Sichuan Provincial Government, and inspect a number of reconstruction projects.
The Permanent Secretary for Constitutional and Mainland Affairs, Mr Joshua Law; the Team Leader, Sichuan Reconstruction, Development Bureau, Mr Mak Chai-kwong; the Permanent Secretary for Development, Mr Wai Chi-sing; the Permanent Secretary for Food and Health, Mr Richard Yuen; the Under Secretary for Education, Mr Kenneth Chen; and representatives of relevant bureaux and departments will also join Mr Lam's visit to Sichuan.
Mr Lam will depart for Chengdu in the evening tomorrow (May 23) and return to Hong Kong on May 27. During his absence, the Secretary for Education, Mr Michael Suen, will be acting Chief Secretary for Administration.
