The Chief Executive, Mr Donald Tsang, will visit Switzerland from January 27 to 28 to attend the World Economic Forum Annual Meeting. During his visit, Mr Tsang will meet with political and business leaders to discuss the global economic condition and outlook. He will also update them on Hong Kong's latest developments.
Mr Tsang will start his visit in Zurich by addressing a luncheon hosted by the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office in Berlin, the Hong Kong Trade Development Council and the Swiss-Hong Kong Business Association.
On January 28, Mr Tsang will attend the World Economic Forum Annual Meeting in Davos and address the Meeting's plenary session on the global economic outlook. He will meet with leaders of multinational corporations to exchange views on Hong Kong's developments. He will also call on the President of the Swiss Confederation and Head of the Federal Department of Finance, Mrs Eveline Widmer-Schlumpf, and the Director-General of the World Trade Organization, Mr Pascal Lamy.
The Chief Executive will be accompanied by the Director of the Chief Executive's Office, Professor Gabriel Leung; Private Secretary to the Chief Executive, Ms Bernadette Linn; Information Co-ordinator, Mr Andy Ho; and Assistant Director (Media), Ms Betty Ho.
The Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development, Mr Gregory So, will also visit Davos to attend the World Trade Organization Informal Ministerial Meeting on January 28.
Mr Tsang will depart for Hong Kong on January 29. During his absence, the Chief Secretary for Administration, Mr Stephen Lam, will be the Acting Chief Executive.
