Lai Chi Kok Reception Centre inmate assaults staff

An inmate at Lai Chi Kok Reception Centre allegedly assaulted an on-duty staff member on his face yesterday (January 14).
The inmate was reported to have hit an on-duty staff member on his face with intent yesterday at around 9.45am in a dayroom.
The staff and the inmate were examined by a medical officer and found to have sustained no external injury so far.
The inmate was detained separately and the case was reported to the Police for investigation.
