At the invitation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Permanent Secretary for Constitutional and Mainland Affairs, Mr Joshua Law, will lead a delegation of the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) to visit the Mainland from January 15 to 20.
The 10-member delegation will visit Heilongjiang Province and meet officials there. While in Beijing, the delegation will meet the heads of various departments of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The delegation will also make courtesy calls on the Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Office of the State Council and the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council.
A spokesman for the Constitutional and Mainland Affairs Bureau today (January 14) said that the visit is conducted under the established arrangement for reciprocal visits between the HKSAR Government and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Since 1999, officials from the HKSAR Government and those from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs have been conducting reciprocal visits once a year to enhance communication and mutual understanding.
