The Shenzhen Summer Universiade 2011 (Universiade) concluded today (August 23). The Acting Secretary for Home Affairs, Ms Florence Hui, applauded the outstanding performance of Hong Kong athletes at the Universiade, who are bringing home a record number of three medals.
Ms Hui said, "The achievements of our young athletes at this year's Universiade are impressive, giving a strong boost to the development of youth sport in Hong Kong." She encouraged the athletes to continue to strive for excellence and wished them every success in future.
The Hong Kong delegation won three bronze medals at this year's Universiade. The medallists are below:
* Fencing (Women's individual sabre): Miss Au Yeung Wai-sum
* Gymnastics (Women's vault): Miss Angel Wong
* Athletics (Men's 4 x 100m relay): Mr Yip Siu-keung, Mr Lai Chun-ho, Mr Leung Ki-ho and Mr Lawrence Ho
