The "Special Topics Report No. 56" on social statistics was published by the Census and Statistics Department (C&SD) today (August 16).
The report contains the findings of a special enquiry on "Self-employment" conducted via the General Household Survey by the C&SD during April to June 2010.
The enquiry on "Self-employment" provided information on the characteristics of self-employed persons and their situation (including working experience and job-seeking experience, if any) prior to their becoming self-employed. Self-employed persons covered in this enquiry referred to those persons who, in their main employment, worked for profit or fees in their own business/profession and were neither employed by someone nor employing others.
The report includes findings of the above enquiry with some 30 statistical tables. Users can download this publication free of charge at the website of the C&SD (www.censtatd.gov.hk/products_and_services/products/publications/statistical_report/social_data/index.jsp).
