Police arrested two men and seized 147 kilograms of suspected cocaine worth about $153 million yesterday (April 29).
Acted on information, officers of the Narcotics Bureau conducted thorough investigations and intercepted two men, aged 29 and 53, in Ma On Shan, Shatin at around 3pm yesterday. About one kilogram of suspected cocaine was seized from their possession.
Officers later raided a residential unit in Tsim Sha Tsui area and seized 146 kilograms of suspected cocaine inside the flat. All the drugs seized could fetch about $153 million if sold in the retail market.
The duo were arrested for trafficking in dangerous drugs and are still being detained for further enquiries.
