     Head of the Central Policy Unit, Professor Lau Siu-kai, underwent a preventive operation at Prince of Wales Hospital on April 6 in the morning.  The operation went well.  He is now recuperating.

     Professor Lau's doctor advised that he would need to take sufficient rest after the operation.  Taking into account the doctor's advice, Professor Lau will be on sick leave till April 17.

     Deputy Head, Mr Robin Ip, will act as Head, Central Policy Unit, during Professor Lau's sick leave from April 6 to April 17.
