Police are investigating a traffic accident in Yuen Long today (March 26) in which a woman was killed.
About 7.30pm, a 56-year-old woman was riding her bicycle travelling along Kiu Hing Road towards Pak Sha Tsuen. On reaching Chun Fai Garden, the cyclist was hit by the door of a private car parked on Kiu Hing Road by a 23-year-old woman. She was then rolled over by a light goods vehicle driven by a 21-year-old man.
The 56-year-old female cyclist sustained serious injuries, was taken to Pok Oi Hospital where she was certified dead at 8.04pm.
The 23-year-old private car driver and the 21-year-old LGV driver were arrested for dangerous driving causing death. They are being detained for further investigation.
Investigations by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, New Territories North, are under way.
