Dance shows reveal Korean dynastic splendours
*********************************************

The National Dance Company of Korea's latest work "Millennium Road ﷿ Korean Fantasy", coming to Hong Kong next month (June), is a superb production of a highly technical and professional performance that represents the essence of Korean performing arts and the collaborative efforts of leading choreographers.

With beauties and swordsmen, drums and swirling sleeves, in court dance, sword dance, hourglass drum dance, religious dance, and many more, the production mixes quiet and intrinsic Korean beauty with dynamic masculinity in different settings, ranging from exquisite castle life to eccentric and capricious street performances.

The National Dance Company of Korea was established in 1962 with the aim of cultivating traditional and folk dances and introducing creative theatrical dance. It has played a pivotal role as the leading professional dance troupe in Korea and helped to introduce the aesthetics of Korean dance to the world. It has participated in numerous international occasions, including the 1968 Mexico Olympics, 1972 Munich Olympics, 1984 LA Olympics, 1992 Barcelona Olympics, and 2002 World Cup in Korea.
