Chief Secretary to visit Beijing

     The Chief Secretary for Administration, Mr Henry Tang, will leave Hong Kong next Wednesday (April 9) for a duty visit to Beijing.

     Mr Tang will call on the Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Office of the State Council, the National Development and Reform Commission, the Beijing Organising Committee for the Games of the XXIX Olympiad, the Ministry of Transport, and the General Administration of Sports.  He will also officiate at the opening of the Hong Kong Jockey Club Clubhouse in Beijing.

     Mr Tang will return to Hong Kong on April 11.  During his absence, the Secretary for Education, Mr Michael Suen, will be the Acting Chief Secretary for Administration.
