Members of Commission on Youth re-appointed

    The Government announced today (March 25) the re-appointment of 11 existing members to the Commission on Youth (COY) for a one-year term starting from April 1, 2008.

The re-appointed members are as follows:

    The commission also includes representatives from the Home Affairs Bureau, Education Bureau, Labour and Welfare Bureau, and Security Bureau.

    The COY is a non-statutory advisory body to advise the Government on matters relating to youth, to enhance the civic awareness of young people and their participation in community affairs; and to promote leadership training and national education for young people. It commissions research studies on different aspects of youth matters, works in partnership with other non-governmental organisations on youth matters, and operates funding schemes to sponsor non-governmental organisations in carrying out international and Mainland exchanges for youths.
