Regarding a long-stay ward in Castle Peak Hospital in which there were four patients presented with vomiting or diarrhea symptoms yesterday, the hospital announced the following update today (January 16).
There is one more case reported at the same ward (female, aged 46). Among the five patients, test results of four patients were positive for Norovirus and results for the remaining one is pending.
Infection control measures of the ward concerned have been enhanced. Admission and visiting to the ward have been suspended while all patients are under close medical surveillance.
The cases have been reported to the Hospital Authority and the Centre for Health Protection for necessary follow up.
