Employer fined for breaching MPFS Ordinance

    An employer was fined $12,000 at the Kwun Tong Magistrates' Courts today (May 24), after being convicted of offences under the Mandatory Provident Fund Schemes Ordinance (Cap. 485).

     The defendant, Ngan Siu Leung trading as Leung Kee Transp  (BR no.: 07607687), was charged with offences under section 7A(8) of the ordinance. The defendant pleaded guilty to 12 counts of failing to make MPF contributions for his employee within the prescribed time for the contribution periods between November 2002 and October 2003. The defendant was fined $1,000 for each of the summonses, totalling $12,000.
