Donate used books for charity

    Book collection for the Book Donation & Sale Campaign 2006 is now on.

     The campaign, which aims to promote reading, book sharing and help the needy, is jointly presented by the Hong Kong Public Libraries of the Leisure and Cultural Services Department, Home Affairs Department and 18 District Councils, Hong Kong Housing Authority, Hongkong Post, the Community Chest of Hong Kong and the Agency for Volunteer Service.

     From now until February 22 (Wednesday), members of the public are encouraged to donate books to all public libraries (except mobile libraries) while the Hong Kong Central Library accepts books till February 26.

     Adult's and children﷿s books on general subjects are welcome except textbooks for primary and secondary schools, exercise books, magazines and audio-visual materials.

     Books collected will be put on sale for charity on February 25 and 26 (Saturday and Sunday) from 10am to 6pm at the following venues:

     1. Exhibition Gallery, Hong Kong Central Library -- G/F, 66 Causeway Road, Causeway Bay, Hong Kong.

     2. Kai Tak East Sports Centre-- 30 Luk Hop Street, San Po Kong, Kowloon.

     3. Main Arena, Yuen Wo Road Sports Centre -- 8 Yuen Wo Road, Sha Tin, New Territories.

     All books are on sale at $5 each and it is limited to 30 books per person. All proceeds will go to the Community Chest of Hong Kong.
